McBurney Funeral Home

Effective, January 5th, 2022, the BAO has announced funeral services must be capped at 50% capacity regardless of vaccination status. Visitations must be by scheduled appointments only to avoid congestion and all guests will continued to be passively screened prior to entry. Individual families may choose to only allow fully vaccinated guests to attend in person visitations/funerals taking place at the funeral home. Funerals taking place outside of the funeral home or a place of worship will continue to require proof of vaccination. In person funeral arrangements will be limited two people plus funeral home staff. Food and beverage within the funeral home is prohibited at this time. Outdoor services will be permitted to allow as many guests as they wish while still adhering to the social distancing guidelines (two metres) but may also restrict the numbers of guests allowed at each service.  These rules apply to every funeral home and cemetery in Ontario. We will continue to monitor any changes put in place by the BAO and the Huron-Perth Health Unit. The BAO and the Huron-Perth Public Health Unit has also made it mandatory for all staff and attendees to wear a mask or face covering while inside the funeral home or service venue. We continue to offer pre-planning/funeral arrangements in person, over the phone or via email and will still be offering to live-stream or record funerals so that the public can view services from the comfort of their home should they choose to do so. Condolences, donations or floral tributes can be completed through our website or hand-delivered to the funeral home. If you have any questions about any of the guidelines we have in place, please do not hesitate to contact the funeral home.
