Obituary of Lois Cafik

At her home on Sunday, October 13th, 2024, Lois (Truax) Cafik of Wroxeter passed away at the age of 94.

Devoted wife of the late John Cafik who predeceased her in 2011. Loving mother of Stephen & Rosemary Cafik, Tom Cafik, Margaret & Daniel Roushorne, Mary & Michael Geczy and Nancy Cleary. Cherished grandma of seventeen and great-grandma of twenty. Lois will be lovingly remembered by her son-in-law Derek Cleary, dear friends Steve & Linda Payne as well as by her many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her daughters Susan and Victoria Cafik, grandson Ken Cafik, daughter-in-law Coleen Wise and by all of her siblings.

Lois lived a life of faith and service and had a deep love for her family.  She leaves behind a legacy of music, art and kindness. She served as a dedicated organist for many years, sharing her musical talents across multiple parishes. Lois was not only a gifted musician but also an extraordinary artist.  She painted vibrant landscapes and family portraits and lovingly crafted many hand knit and crochet pieces.  Her talents brought joy to all who had the pleasure of experiencing her work. Camping adventures and travel also brought tremendous joy to her life, giving her the opportunity to explore new places while creating precious memories with her husband John and her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were especially dear to her, and she demonstrated infinite patience and love in their time together. Lois approached the brushstrokes of life with grace and care, always finding ways to add beauty to the world around her. Her gentle spirit and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Listowel on Thursday, October 17th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Listowel. Reception will follow in the parish hall.
