Obituary of Iris Shaw

At Nine Mile Villa in Lucknow Ontario, on April 30, Iris Shaw, formerly of Peterborough , passed away peacefully in her 96th year.  She was the beloved wife of Harold Shaw who predeceased her in 2007 and dear mother of David and Betty Shaw of Wingham.  Loving grandmother of Peter and Janice Shaw of Bluevale, Andy and Jennifer Shaw of Wingham and Tiffany and Jordan Swail of Kitchener.  Cherished great-grandmother of Breelle, Carson, Adler, Alayna Shaw and Victoria Swail. Predeceased by her parents Lessie and Walter Fitzgerald. 

Iris worked at the Albion Knitting Company, Quaker Oats and Ovaltine before she was invited to instruct at Adam Scott Collegiate in Peterborough in the commercial department, teaching typing and book keeping.  Iris was small but mighty and was well respected by students and staff.

Visitation at the McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham Ontario on Sunday May 6th from 1:00 – 5:00 pm.  Funeral Service will be held at the Wingham United Church on Monday, May 7th at 11:00 am. Reverend Richard Hall Officiating. Final resting place, Wingham Cemetery.
