Obituary of Marilyn Wood

At London Health Sciences Centre on Friday, February 23, 2024, Marilyn Wood (Skinner) of Wingham, passed away at the age of 86.

 

Beloved wife of Ken Wood. Loving mom of Joanne Anderson (Caledon East), Janet Wood Lopez and Miguel Lopez (Grande Prairie), Karen and John Dailleboust (Wingham) and Doug and Marion Wood (Caledon East). Cherished grandma to eleven grandsons.  Philip, Marshall and Conor Anderson, Rigo, Camilo, Marco and Alex Lopez, Luke and Ben Dailleboust and Jake and Theo Wood. Dear sister to Robert and Ginette Skinner (Calgary). Predeceased by her parents Harold (Mike) and Mabel (Snell) Skinner, sister Barbara Rundle (Jim) and sister-in-law Lois Andrews (Bill).

 

Marilyn graduated a Registered Nurse from St. Joseph’s Hospital, London in 1957 and worked in London and Wingham until family arrived. Her deep faith dictated her chosen role in life.  Her life’s purpose was first to family and second to minister and support to all others.

 

Visitation will be held at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham, on Friday, March 8th, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm plus at the Wingham United Church from 1:00 pm on Saturday March 9th until 1:45 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm. Reception will follow in the church basement.

Interment will take place in the spring at Wingham Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Wingham United Church would be appreciated.
