Mrs. Wood was such a special lady. I have many wonderful memories of being taken to visit her as a small child when Mom and I would go to Wingham for errands, and in recent years truly enjoyed our telephone visits and hearing the news of the whole family. Please accept my sincere condolences. Julie

Ken and families
We are saddened to hear of Marilyn's passing. She was such a delight to be around. I do recall while she was the Health Nurse at Western Foundry of her reminders that perhaps I should look at some healthier food choices. She was not the first nor the last to make that recommendation - but she did provide the advice in the kindest way!
With deepest sympathy
John & Trudy Leitch and families

We met Marilyn and Ken in 1958 when Ken and I joined the staff of what was then Wingham District High School. Marilyn, as a nurse at the Wingham hospital, presided over the births of our first two children. In 1960 we went to live in Ottawa, but the Woods and the Smiths have maintained a close correspondence. My wife Barbara passed away in 2000, so I can share with Ken the anguish of losing one's life-long loving partner. I remember Marilyn as being all of that to Ken, as being a devoted mother, and as a dear friend to ourselves. I send to all her family my sincere regrets for her departure. She will remain in our fond memories. — Russell Smith.

We send our sympathies to you on the death of a very dear partner and special mother and grandmother. Through her work in the church and her nursing service, Marilyn touched so many people in meaningful ways. She was a gracious host who always welcomed us into her home. Ken, Joanne, Janet, Karen and Doug - I am so very sorry to learn of Marilyn's passing. She was one of the kindest people I have ever known. One of the others was Mary Campbell. It seems appropriate that these two dear friends have died so close together. May your loving wife and mother rest peacefully and may God bless you and all the members of your family.
