My sympathy to the Families of Bob, I had the privilege of Bob as my first year of high school in 1984. He also had taught my father math and Militia many years earlier. Later in my life I I encountered Bob as a volunteer at Huronlea Home where I would also have the honour of providing care later for him in his last living years.
Rhue In Freiden Bob,
I will miss you greatly,

Karen, Jim and David.
Please accept my sincere condolences.
Your father was a man of such regal bearing, knowledge and kindness. I last saw him at a spring barbecue at the golf club. It was not possible for me to accept his kind offer to call him Bob… “thank you Mr. Ritter”.
We have in common the experience of growing up as children of men of Madill… your father sent kind and personalized messages upon the loss of both of my parents.
Rest Easy, Mr. Ritter.
Sincerely,
Julie Riding (Gnay)

Many times we have reminised how fortunate we were to have such capable teachers that practised their profession with great thoughtfulness and kindness. Mr. Ritter was certainly one such teacher. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Just to let you know that I really enjoyed the times that I spent with your father. As a young girl I remember all the nice visits that your parents made to our family home in St. Jacobs. Grandpa Steiner loved to see them. Much more recently, times spent with Ray Gabel to go out for lunch with your father were also very enjoyable. Your Dad was a very fine man. I'm sure that you will miss him greatly.
Sincerely,
Gloria (Steiner) Bennett

We were saddened to hear of the passing of our "Uncle Bob," as he was affectionately known to us. We very much enjoyed our telephone conversations with him over the years, especially during his stay at the Huronlea Home. We shared family stories, many memories and much laughter, despite the challenging times he faced with the restrictions at the Home.
Bob was a remarkable man and leader who achieved much in his lifetime. He touched and influenced many people through his life experiences.
We will miss him until such time as we meet again through Jesus Christ's promise of eternal life.
Our deepest sympathy to all the family.

I remember Mr. Ritter as VP, leader of the Cadet program and for one memorable visit to his office on a matter of mutual concern.
He was impressive for his leadership even to a kid with little experience of life. He will be remembered by literally thousands of students spread across the world. Blessings on the whole family in this time of grieving.

Bob was a great friend for almost 60 years. A wonderful teacher and a good mentor. I used to phone him on November 5th and ask him what day it was and he usually got it right, Guy Fawks Day, the day when Guy Fawks was burned in effigy in the England for planning to blowup the Parliament Buildings in London on November the 5th 1705. Bob enjoyed history and we often had good chats on the phone after the pandemic started. We both served in the Military, he was Canadian Army I was, I was Royal Navy, we were both in the services at about the same time, the early fifties. But in different countries. As a a school administrator he was tops, he made us proud to be a member of the staff. He also produced and published a history of the school. We all loved Bob may he rest in peace.

My condolences to the Ritter family. Mr. Ritter (Major Ritter) was my Vice Principal at WDHS and CO at the 99th Battery during the 60s. He was a steady influence on my academics and my stint in Cadets and the Militia. Great memories of a gentleman who cared about his charges on a personal level. I recall a number of interviews about the incongruity between my abilities and my school performance. He was right but as a late bloomer, I didn't realize it at the time.

My condolences to Mr. Ritter's family. He was a wonderful man. I had the opportunity to work with him for many years at F.E. Madill. He was a man who commanded such great respect from those of us who worked with him. In fact, before he left Wingham, he lived a couple of doors down the street from my mother at Junction Place and I would see him quite regularly. I never called him anything other than "Mr. Ritter", even though he told me many times that I could call him "Bob". My responses was always - "Okay, Mr. Ritter". I hope all your wonderful memories of him will help you through this difficult time. May he rest peacefully.

Sorry to hear of the passing of my dear friend and valued colleague. He and I spent countless hours together at the school on the hill. He was the most dedicated and organized person, and working together made me appreciate those characteristics.
I always enjoyed our telephone chats since he was in Brussels.
