To the Family of "Red";
May your family have our families deepest sympathy. Although I (Matt) had only met Red a few times while repairing tires on the farm, I know his mannerisms shall live on through Scotty. Some stories occasionally are told from a source that previously lived on the 1st. (Ruth Townsend (Mathers) and always have a humorous overtone. I'm sure Red is watching over a couple of herds. One from above, as well as another where he went. George and Ruth, Matt and Aimee Townsend and families.

To all of Glen's (Red's) family, Our sincere sympathy to everyone. Red was one of the most faithful customers with whom we at McGavin Farm Equipment in Walton did business. Of course, he always asked for "the cousin's discount" - a true Johnston trait!
Farming the land and caring for livestock were his life interests with lots of fun along the way. Rest in peace cousin Red.

I grew up knowing Glen. He was a very hard worker and he loved to farm. It was an honour to be his flower girl when I was very young. Glen has always held a special place in my heart. He always remembered me and we would have a nice conversation whenever we would meet.
It was so funny, when on a first date last year, I was told by my friend that he used to work just down the road from where we were driving. Low and behold he had worked for Glen. He put in several summers working on Glen's farm. It was hard work but he loved working there.
So needless to say as we say goodbye, we will both miss a man who made his mark on our lives.
Our Sympathies

Our deepest sympathy to the Johnston family in the passing of Glenn - an alumni of S. S. # 8 Morris (Browntown) school. Glen was always up to some mischief with a big grin on his face. Many fond memories of our younger days in the Bluevale community with Glen and other members of the Johnston clan. A hard working farmer may he now rest in peace.

Condolences and prayers for the Johnston Family. Glen always had a greeting and smile when you came into Huronlea. He was there for Sing, Sing when the group came into Huronlea last Thursday night. He certainly enjoyed the music and sometimes a little dance with one of the staff. He loved to sing also. Joan Bernard

I grew up just down the road and spent more than one summer as a kid earning a bit of money by helping Glen put in hay. I was pretty young - could barely lift the bales. I look back now and know he did this as a kindness to me - he certainly would have had more help from someone a bit older and stronger. Rest in peace Glen and know that you are remembered by many.

Our condolences to the Johnston Family on the loss of your dad, grandpa, brother and uncle.
While Emerson was in Huronlea, we would often spend a bit of the evening chatting with Glen and Emerson down the hallway near their rooms. Though his memory was foggy, Red always knew that Neil belonged to Emerson and that he could talk about farming with the Mitchells! Invariably, after the topics of crops and cattle were covered, Red would ask for Shirley and he would have faith that she would soon be by to see him.
While your family will all have different memories of Glen, I also wanted to share Emerson’s enduring memory of Glen that he often recounted. He would always say, with a twinkle in his eye, that when Glen got on the dance floor, you had to watch out - you never knew what might happen!!! Though gathering to share memories is not currently an option, we hope that your extended family will find ways to support each other as you grieve your loss.
Sincerely,
Neil and Marie Mitchell, Emily, Sean, Sarah & Claire

Glenn was a great neighbour. Always had time for a few laughs and even when bussy had time for a brief chat. Many times when he went buy on a hot summer day when I was working in a field near the road, he would fling a field-tile-cooled refreshment towards me out of his truck window.
Our sincere condolences to you Scotty and your Family.

To Glen's family:
We went to high school with Glen and what a jovial happy fellow he was each and every day. It was always evident he would be a farmer, he had such a great passion for "out in the country". His warm friendly nature will always be remembered and cherished by all who knew him. Our deepest sympathy to his family for a life well lived. Our thoughts are with you all.
Sincerely Barb nd Al Nicholson
