To Doug's family I would like to offer my sincere condolences. I met Doug through Special Olympics bowling in Goderich. He brought athletes from the house he supported and was such a kind and gentle man. He was so good with thoses he supported but also became good friends with us who volunteered there.
Thank You for sharing him with us . Soar with the Angels Doug you have certainly earned your place there but you will be deeply missed here.

Evelyn and the entire Stamper family,
My sincere sympathy to each of you and your families. May your many beautiful memories give you strength in this difficult time. My memories of Doug are of a gentleman with a soft, caring, compassionate soul. I met him in the park in Wingham a few years ago, while I was sharing time with my young nephew. He was caring for one of his special friends. It had been several years since I seen him but that same quiet smile emerged when I spoke his name. He will be missed by many.

I worked with Doug for many ,many years. We had many memorable moments together. He cared very much for the people he was supporting at his job. It was so much apart of him and who he was. Doug was a gentleman always. He talked about his children and grand children many times. He was so proud of his family and he was very proud to be their dad and poppa. Many nights Doug would show me pictures of grand babies, weddings and outings. Doug was one of the last remaining treasures here on this earth. I will miss him, I will miss making his face go red which was easy to do. You were a happy shining light on this earth and you are up in heaven. God Bless you Doug.
