My sincerest condolences goes out to the Glauser family. I remember Jakob from the early '90s when Simon used to play baseball with my older brother Mark. I remember Jakob making regular attendance for practically every ball game in Belmore and other places we traveled to at the time. Looking back at it now, with my father being the coach, it was one of the best times to be alive. I know it will always be proud moment when Belmore won the Bantam B Division Championship that season and it's still etched in my family's memory.
Simon, if you're reading this I want you to know that my family was deeply saddened to learn about the loss of your father - especially Mark. Any parent's legacy is the family they leave behind and I know Jakob has left a good one. You were one of my brother's best friends since public school and I always thought highly of you during those years. My best regards to you, Christa, Fabienne, your mother Hedy, and the rest of the family.

Sue and I were so saddened when we learned the news of Jakob.
We remember meeting you not long after you moved into the farm and our visit learning all about those big bells and how Jakob earned therm. We'll remember his waves from the tractor as he passed by our place so often.

Christa and Brad. I am truly saddened to hear about the passing of your dear dad. I know you were extremely close to him and you will have a void in your heart forever. When I lost my parents everyone told me "time heals". It doesn't. It just gets a little easier to cope with as the years go on. Keep the wonderful memories you shared with your dad and family, close to your heart and you will hold him close to you forever. My fondest memory of Jakob is spending a week with him and his family in Switzerland. He took us to places that the normal tourist does not see. It was great and I will always cherish the memories. Rest in peace my dear friend.

Jakob was one of the nicest people I've been fortunate to have in my life. His devotion to family was always so apparent and obviously something not lost on his children.
Something that I've always admired about Jakob was his work ethic. You could tell that Jakob was someone that was willing to work and work hard for everything he had in order for his family to have a better life. Again something not lost on his children.
Although I'm extremely saddened to know that he is gone, I'm very happy in the knowledge that Jakob is now resting peacefully up above.
You are missed Jakob and will never be forgotten!

I am so sorry for your loss. My heart is breaking for all of you. Please know you are not alone. We love you and are here for you.
Jakob was a true family man. Whenever I was around him, it was so clear to see how much he loved family time. Over the years, we had many great conversations at family gatherings and I will miss that a lot. When I told Ayden about Jakob's passing, he was shocked. After talking about how sad this all is, especially for his family, he looked up at me with troubled eyes and said, "But I always have so much fun at the farm". After I told him that he could probably still go there again sometime, he replied, "But I want to go there with Jakob". I think this speaks volumes to the kind of person Jakob was. His door was always open. When you were around him, there was lots of fun to be had and memories made that would not soon be forgotten.
Jakob created this beautiful family that I am so happy my sister gets be be apart of. He was the best grandfather. He was always so loving and playful with not only his own grandkids but my little ones as well. The photos I posted is how I will remember Jakob. He always had a smile on his face and a great story to tell. What an incredible way to be remembered!
Rest in peace Jakob. You will be missed.

My sincerest condolences on your loss. Jakob was definitely one of my favourite and most memorable people from my childhood. The first time I visited Simon at your house I can remember being very intimidated by this mountain of a man with his great big beard and many wrestling trophies proudly displayed on the wall the kitchen. I soon learned that my fears were unfounded because he was one of the kindest parents of all my friends. It was this extreme juxtaposition that made such an impression on me, that while he had the physique of a grizzly bear, he had the personality of a teddy bear.
I'm saddened to know he is gone, but happy to have had a chance to know him.
