Obituary of Robert Alvin Higgins

At Braemar Retirement Centre, on Thursday, November 17, 2005, Mr. Alvin Higgins of Wingham, age 84 years. Beloved husband of Verna (Casemore) Higgins of Wingham. Dear father of Marilyn and David Penner of Listowel and Carol and Richard Lassaline of Gorrie. Loving grandfather of Rob Penner of Kitchener, Tim and Deb Penner of Alvinston, Debra Penner of Listowel, Chris and Kyle Lassaline of Gorrie. Great grandfather of Micheal, Jessica, Jordan and Mason Penner. Brother of Jean Pattison, Margaret Higgins and Ruth King of Belgrave and Jeremiah Higgins of Stratford. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Lila (Brydges) Higgins. Mr. Higgins was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 180, Wingham for over forty-five years. Visitation at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham, Ontario on Saturday, 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm Royal Canadian Legion service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 7:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 2:00 pm. Reverend Len Myers officiating. Interment in Wingham Cemetery, Wingham, Ontario. Memorial donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation , Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 180, Wingham or St. Paul's Trinity Anglican Church would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
