Obituary of John Carman Haines

At Wingham & District Hospital, on Saturday, October 14, 2006, Mr. Carman Haines of Wingham, age 89 years. Beloved husband of Noreen (McAllister) Haines of Wingham. Dear brother-in-law of Mervin and Shirley McAllister of Wingham. Uncle of Carl and Marilyn Haines of Kitchener, David Haines of St. Thomas, Karen and Dale Wardley of Barrie and Gail and Paul Heffer of Wingham. Predeceased by his wife Betty (Crich) in 1972. and his brother Neil Paterson Haines. Carman was a veteran of World War II, following the war he farmed near Blyth until 1973. He was a Past Master of Blyth Masonic Lodge, a charter member and Past Worthy Patron of Regal Chapter # 275 Order of Eastern Star, Blyth and the Royal Canadian Legion, Blyth. His community service included ten years on Morris Township School Board. Visitation at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham, Ontario on Sunday from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Blyth Masonic Lodge will hold a memorial service in the funeral home on Sunday at 6:30 pm. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home chapel on Monday at 2:00 pm. Mrs. Marilyn Robertson officiating. Interment in Blyth Union Cemetery, Hullet Township.
