Obituary of George Alfred Sockett

At Wingham & District Hospital, on Sunday, August 26, 2007, Mr. George Sockett of R.R. # 1, Wingham, age 87 years. Devoted dear friend of Edith Pidgeon of Wingham. Brother of Esther and Alvin Blackwell of Goderich, Mary Wilson of Orangeville, Eileen and Charles Poole of Lindsay, Lloyd and Rosemary Sockett of Wiarton. Also survived by several nieces and nephews including his caregivers Jim and Margaret Blackwell of Goderich. Predeceased by his parents James and Frances Sockett and by his brothers James, Oron and Raymond Sockett. Visitation at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham, Ontario on Monday, from 7:00-9:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home chapel on Tuesday at 11:00 am. Mrs. Margaret Blackwell officiating. Interment in Zion Amabel Cemetery, Amabel Township. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or a charity of your choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
