Obituary of Marie A. Merkley

At Seaforth Manor, on Thursday, July 23, 2009, Mrs. Marie Merkley formerly of Wingham age 99 years. The former Marie Coupland beloved wife of the late William J. Merkley who predeceased her in 1986. Loving mother of Paulene and Ron Bennett of Seaforth, Harley and Barbara Merkley of Paris, George and Phyllis Merkley of Wroxeter and Sharon and Jim Adams of Wellesley. Mother-in-law of Reta Merkley of Lucknow and Anna Merkley of London. Sister-in-law of Marjorie Harkness of Wingham. Lovingly remembered by sixteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents Percival and Victoria (Willits) Coupland, her brother Harvey Coupland, her sons Ernie Merkley (1996) and Elmer Merkley (2008), and by one grandson Murray Merkley. Visitation at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham, Ontario on Saturday, from 12:00 noon until time of funeral service at 1:00 pm. Reverend Jeff Hawkins officiating. Interment in Wingham Cemetery, Wingham, Ontario. Memorial donations to Wroxeter United Church would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
