Obituary of Georgena Crothers

At Braemar Retirement Centre, on Sunday, April 19, 2009, Mrs. Georgena Crothers of Wingham, age 87 years. Beloved wife of the late David Crothers who predeceased her in 1994. Dear mother of David and Connie Crothers of Owen Sound. Loving grandmother of Bill and Tracy Gaunt of Port Elgin, Brenda and Dan Thompson of Kitchener, Jana and Bruce Angel of Tara, Kim Crothers and friend Steve Rogers of London and Blake and Deanne Crothers of Winnipeg. Sister-in-law of Violet Beltzer and Gordon Rapson. Also survived by seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents George and Alice (Anderson) Evans, her daughter Joyce Gaunt in 1990, her grandchildren Karin Gaunt and David Crothers both in 1965, her sisters Muriel Montgomery, Lila Hickey and Evelyn Rapson and her brother Emerson Evans in infancy. Visitation at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham, Ontario on Wednesday, 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 1:30 pm. Reverend John Neilson officiating. Interment in Wingham Cemetery, Wingham, Ontario. No flowers please, memorial donations to Wingham Legion or Braemar Residents Council would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Royal Canadian Legion Service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
