Obituary of Barbara Helen Richey

At Columbia Forest Long Term Care Centre, Waterloo on Saturday, October 15, 2011, Barbara Richey of Waterloo, and formerly of R R # 3, Wingham age 75 years. The former Barbara Winchester, beloved wife of the late Ronald Richey who predeceased her in 2000. Dear mother of Karen (Frank) DeWetering of RR # 1, Sebringville, Randy (Ruthane) Richey of R R # 2 Wingham, Brenda Richey-Van Bakel (David Van Bakel) of Waterloo, Brian Richey of Toronto and Heather Richey of Vanastra. Also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchild. Sister of Pat Nairn of St. Marys, Sharon (Fred) Pennesi of St. Marys and David (Joanne) Winchester of R R # 1, St. Marys. Sister-in-law of Helen Richey of London. Predeceased by her parents Reginald and Isabel (Elliot) Winchester, her daughter Patricia in infancy, granddaughter Kathleen in infancy, brothers-in-law Don Nairn and Douglas Richey. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. A former nurse, Barbara had a warm heart and strong sense of compassion for others. She was also a former member of the CWL. Barbara's many passions included sketching, long walks, the outdoors, poetry writing and spending time with family and friends. Visitation at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Wingham, Ontario on Friday, from 10:00 am until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Father K.P Morrison officiating. Interment in Wingham Cemetery, Wingham, Ontario. Memorial donations to Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
