Obituary of Lorena Herchmer McGowan

At Palmerston District Hospital on Tuesday, December 13, 2011, Mrs. Lorena McGowan of London in her 105th year. Beloved wife of the late G. Finlay McGowan (1905-97). Left to cherish her memory, daughter Margaret & husband Ronald Jamieson of RR#2 Lucknow. Loved grandmother of Lori Anne Jamieson of Waterloo, Gordon & wife Lynn Jamieson of Harriston, Marilyn & husband Arden Holley of RR#1 Hanover. Loving great grandmother of Philip, Olivia, Ian Jamieson and Adam Holley. Predeceased by her parents Thomas Conley (b. 1871) & Margaret Laurena (Ely) Allen (1872-1911), daughter Mary Ann (1940-62), brothers Ernest (1904-25), George (1911-12) and Thomas Allen and sisters Evelyn Cull (1906-91) and Margaret Baker (1908-99). Visitation at the McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham on Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home chapel on Friday, December 16th at 10:00 am. Interment in St. Jude's Cemetery, Oakville, Ontario. To honor Lorena's lifelong love of reading, memorial donations to London Public Library or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
