Obituary of Jon Stafford Bateson

At London Health Sciences Centre, on Saturday, April 30, 2011, Mr. Jon Bateson of Wingham, age 64 years. Beloved husband of Betty (Horsburgh) Bateson. Dear father of Jane and Stan Kikkert of R.R. # 4, Wingham. Loving grandfather of Kelsey, Trey, Darby, Nyssa and Boe. Lovingly remembered by his sister Jane and Bob Corrigan of Goderich and his mother-in-law Alice Horsburgh of Wingham. Predeceased by his parents Ace and Peg (Fuller) Bateson and by his son Jason in 1982. Jon and his father Ace, owned and operated Bateson Model Dairy in Wingham for many years. He was greatly involved in Wingham Minor Hockey and the Wingham Silver Stick Committee. Visitation at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham, Ontario on Monday. 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 pm. Royal Canadian Legion Service will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 6:30 pm. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home chapel on Tuesday at 11:00 am. Reverend Jeff Hawkins officiating. Interment in Wingham Cemetery, Wingham, Ontario. Memorial donations to Wingham Minor Hockey or a charity of your choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
