Obituary of Melvin John Gateman

At Wingham & District Hospital on Friday, July 20, 2012, Mr. Mel Gateman of Blyth, age 78 years. Beloved father of Valerie Gateman and Blaire (Sue) Gateman all of Kitchener. Grandfather of Benita Gateman Lewis (Mark) , Andrew (Terra) Gateman, Emily Gateman and Mitch Gateman. Great-grandfather of Finley Gateman and Violetta Lewis. Brother of Corrine Logie of Hanover, Marie and John McIntosh of R.R. # 5, Brussels, June Theander of Port Hope and brother-in-law of Glen Sickle of Hanover. Predeceased by his sister Blanche Sickle in 2011. Mel was a reporter - photographer with the Hanover Post and later became editor of the Markdale Standard. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Mel's life (potluck) at Belgrave Community Centre, on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at 1:00 pm. Memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy and can be placed through McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham.
