Dear Marie, Sandy, Jamie and family:
I find words not easy to express my deepest sympathies for your loss. After just losing my Dad in June and then just a couple of weeks later to lose my dear friend Dave, I am devastated. Dave was a natural progression when he took over from Ernie King, helpful, kind, a great conversationalist and all round great guy. He will be greatly missed.

Dave was so helpful to my church St. Paul's-Trinity Anglican in Wingham when he installed our new Sound System. I also enjoyed several chats with him at the Ernie King store in Wingham and meeting Marie there as well. We all had several laughs about our favourite TV Show The Big Bang Theory. May Dave Rest in Peace and Rise in Glory.Bill Seymour.

Dear Marie, Sandy, Jamie and families: I can't tell you how shocked and saddened I was to hear of Dave's passing. I have known Dave since my days at Champion Road Machinery and then since he owned Ernie King Music and he put in the sound system at our church in Bayfield. I had been in the store in Goderich very recently and each time had great visits with him. To say he will be missed is an understatement and I can only imagine the loss to his family and friends. Please accept my most heartfelt condolences and know that I will be keeping everyone in my thoughts and prayers. Memories are wonderful and I hope you continue to cherish them as you mourn and journey through this huge loss.
Most sincerely, Brenda & Mark McLean

Marie and Family.
I was deeply saddened to hear of Dave's sudden passing and offer my sincere condolences to each of you. Dave was above all a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He was kind and considerate and always very respectful of others. Dave was a natural teacher when it came to anything electronic. I witnessed this first hand when he and Travis Teed rewired the Goderich Legion sound system. He was an exceptional problem solver and possessed an abundance of patience. I enjoyed Dave's stories as he reminisced about his sweetheart Marie, his children and his grandson. He particularly enjoyed family time with his brothers with whom he held a special bond. I know he will be missed by many but I wish inner peace for those closest to him, his loved ones, and I hope that his memory will always bring a smile to your face.

Marie and family,
Adora and I send our deepest sympathies to you at this time of grief and loss. We were so happy to see you and Dave at the recent High School reunion. My first memory of Dave was our first day of grade nine, seeing him arrive at school driving the old Ford pickup. We were together from that day through grade 12 and beyond with many shared experiences, especially of the musical variety. He was a member of the original 'Greenock Swamp Stompers" and we'll never forget his infectious smile and generous spirit.

Dave and I first met as fellow Masons at The former Clinton Lodge No. 84 A.F. & A.M. We went through the chairs together and I always enjoyed being in his company. He was great to be with and had that happy smile and laugh that I will always remember. He for sure exemplified the true value of being a Mason. I was always happy when we should happen to meetin Goderich and Clinton as he always had the time to catch up with what was going on in my life. Rest in Peace Dave.

I am sorry to hear of Dave's passing, he was one of my students during my first year teaching at Wingham and District High School 1963-64. He was in one of my grade 9 auto classes. He was a quiet student with a smile, always did his work,. The kind of student most teachers like to have in class. I think I only taught him in grade 9 but when I saw him in the hall he always said "hello". After he graduated I would run into him from time to time, we always had a good chat. The last time I saw him was at the recent home coming and he really had not changed, he always had a kind of relaxed easy manner about him. I always enjoyed meeting him and catching up on news and sharing the past. Sorry for your loss. Tim R. Willis

Marie and Family,
Our hearts were saddened when we heard of your loss and we cannot ever express our sympathies enough, but we will remember Dave always with a smile, a kind word, and a hand shake when you hadn’t seen him in a while.
As a long time friend of my parents, He always had time to talk and was genuinely interested in what you had to say!
He was the kinda friend that always made an effort to connect when he saw you.
My Mum will miss chatting with him at the Celtic Festival this year…..as he always took the time….
Kinda hope my Dad and Dave are having a great catch up right now, maybe a drink or two…
Rest easy Dave, you will be dearly missed!

Dave was a true Mason, always putting others ahead of himself. He was a regular at our Lodge in Wingham and was often asked to fill in at the very last moment for officers that didn’t show. His knowledge and memory was amazing and could recite any part of the work at a moment’s notice and really enjoyed passing his knowledge on to all. As with all Masons, family comes first and Dave never missed a chance to talk about his during social hour. After our June meeting he was excited to tell us about his Jamie and Kristyn’s upcoming wedding and was always a very proud Dad and Grandpa
So mote it be

Sending prayers and strength the family! After Ernie gave up the music store and Dave and Marie came to Wingham they were the absolute kindest people who saw the best in everyone. They just loved music and embraced everyone especially those who were musically talented! We had the great fortune at a young age to spend a ton of time in their recording studio. They allowed the boys to record tunes and explore their musical talent…he was the best. Chad and I are terribly sorry to hear this news and we send our sincerest condolences.
