Marcia & Brad Coates posted a condolence
Sunday, March 24, 2024
We send our deepest condolences to the family of Jim (Cooter) and Karen Dickison. We only learned of the tragedy yesterday and are sad we never got to attend the visitation to pay our respects. They were wonderful people. We have known them for over 40 years, although sadly have lost touch over the years. We have fond memories of them from back in the day when Brad and Jim played on the Black Sheep Baseball team and the Wroxeter Warriors Broomball team. We have wonderful memories of being at the home of Florence and Dalton, enjoying life with family and friends. We remember Florence making Black Sheep T-shirts for our children. Although we only saw Jim and Karen sporadically over the last 30 years the memories of our younger selves enjoying life with them will stay with us forever. They will be sadly missed.

My condolences to the families of Karen & Jim Dickison! I was shocked to hear of the tragic accident! I knew Karen from the Service Ontario office, I got to know Karen when I had the office in Brussels. We helped each other with computer issues, questions we couldn’t find answer to and supplies, when we run short. She was always very helpful, and I returned the favours when needed. My thoughts and prayers are with all! Joan Bernard

Jim was my first cousin, so I have many memories from family visits and Christmas's at Aunt Florence and Uncle Dalt's as well as our grandparents farm in Teeswater. There are no words for this unbelievably tragic and unfair loss. My heart goes out to their children, grandchild, family and friends. Sending love and healing thoughts.

Such sad news. Karen was always a wonderful person to deal with at Service Ontario. My husband and I are Wingham residents and know Karen through Service Ontario. She was such a smart, kind and knowledgeable person. Dealing with her for the last 15 years was always a pleasure. Karen was well known and well respected by the residents in Wingham and surrounding area. We are heartbroken for her family at this tragic and impossibly sad time. Our prayers and thoughts are with you all.

Dick Allan posted a condolence
Monday, March 18, 2024
Hello,
My name is Dick Allan and though you don't know me, I can say that I knew Jim for most of his life and Karen later on when I was in Service Ontario. In the 1950's to 1968 Florence and Dalton Dickison worked and lived on my Father's farm on the Belmore line. As a result of this I worked with Dalton in the summers where I got to know Jim and Dan essentially from when they were little guys. Jim was always the quiet one but when he spoke it was either funny or important. To face the nature of this tragic accident is nothing other than heart breaking creating for you and a tremendous challenge. The fact that both your Mother and Father established such a close and loving bond with all the family should provide you the foundation on which to heal.
Though I have a conflict which prevents me from visiting with you, I want you to know that my family wishes to express to you all our deepest and profound condolence.
Dick and Marlene Allan

We are so very sorry to hear the tragic news of the loss of Karen and Jim. Jim was my childhood buddy. We caught a lot of snapping turtles, painted turtles and fish. Jim and Karen loved their trailer, and they camped across from us for 6 years at the campground. Fabulous neighbors. And the only time you heard anything was laughter and joy when their family, especially their grandson came to visit. Our hearts go out to the family, they were taken far too soon. We will miss them.
