Obituary of Nolda Ricker
Peacefully, on Friday, November 24th, 2023 at University Hospital in London, Nolda (VanDenBroek) Ricker of Wingham passed away at the age of 74.
Devoted wife of the late Carl Ricker. Loving mom of Lindsay Kulas & Tom Brindley of Goderich, Leah Kulas of British Columbia and step-mom of Valerie & Darrell Atkins of New Zealand, Bob & Kirsty Ricker of Kitchener and Jennifer & Dan Bonin of Stevensville. Cherished Grandma and “MomMom” of Lukas, Hannah and Zackary “Boo” Brindley; Brianna, Katelyn and Ryan Atkins; Ashlyn, Kayley (Kyle), and Kyle (Emily) Ricker; Sebastien, Amelia and Sophie Bonin and great-grandma of two. Nolda will be lovingly remembered by her many brothers and sisters and their families, and also by Carl’s family.
Nolda was a vibrant woman who spoke her mind with unwavering authenticity. Her boisterous spirit and unapologetic honesty left a mark on all fortunate enough to know her. With a witty and sometimes sarcastic sense of humour she was often remembered for her ability to make everyone feel at ease. She was blessed to have some amazing, life-long friendships that she was especially proud of. Nolda’s outgoing nature and feisty character were a testament to her strength and dedication to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of boldness and spirit, that will continue to live on through those who were loved by her.
A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, December 1st, at 1:00 p.m. The funeral will be live-streamed. To view the service, please click here.
A Celebration of Nolda’s life will continue at the Wingham Legion from 2:00-5:00 p.m.
