My sincere condolences to Doris and extended family with Jim’s passing. I had the privilege of meeting Jim in 2015 when my wife Joan and I lived in wingham for 2 years. I joined the wingham curling club and this is where these 2 country boys met. He joined me at the morning coffee club and helped welcome me into the group and on several occasions he took me on tours of the area especially out where his daughter farmed near his old farm. I tried to keep in touch over the past few years with updates in wingham and how the packers and tiger cats were doing. I only knew Jim for a short period of time and I appreciated the jestures he made in allowing me to feel welcome in the village. I had been thinking about a call to him on Monday when I heard the news. Wingham and area have lost a good one. Rest in peace my friend. Bruce alldred

Bev and I send our sincere condolences to Doris and all the family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I have many memories of times spent Jim. We shared our love of football and were able to go to some games in Hamilton together. But one memory stands out in my mind and shows how much friendship meant to Jim. I was stationed with the RCMP in Burnaby B.C., 3000 miles from home and working the day shift. I received a call to return to the office. I walked in, not sure what to expect and there stood Jim and Harold Dawson. It was one of those wonderful surprises that is never forgotten. True friendships survives the seperation of time and distance. Rest in peace buddy. Bill Smyth
