Obituary of Dale Haggins
Peacefully on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, Dale Haggins passed away at Huron Hospice in Clinton.
Devoted husband, for 35 years, of Bev (Garside) Haggins. Brother of Gary Haggins and Tami (Mark) Walton. Brother-in-law to Doug (Linda) Garside, and Ann (James) Pappin, Marg (Leland) Crim and Ken Garside. Adored uncle and great-uncle to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Andrew V.H. & Jeanne Haggins and parents-in-law Al and Bev Garside.
Dale had a “need for speed” beginning his career life as a helicopter pilot in Niagara Falls. He transitioned to coach driving in Alberta and ice road trucking in Northwest Territories. The last 31 years he hauled for Sparling Propane. Dale’s “need for speed” included great adventures with motorcycles, classic cars and a side-by-side. His tremendous expertise built, and modified each of these to his own precise applications.
A service will be held on Sunday, October 1st, 2023 at the Wingham Columbus Centre (99 Kerr Dr., Wingham) at 1:30 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Dale's Life from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Please dress casually.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Huron Residential Hospice.
