Obituary of Doug Kemp

At his home on Thursday, August 10, 2023, Doug Kemp of Wingham, passed away surrounded by his family, at the age of 58.

Loving husband of Judy (Sholdice) Kemp of 37 years. Devoted dad of Jessica & Ian, Brandi-Lee, Justine, Allyson & Will, Kerri & Aaron Wolfe, and Daniel & Kaylin.

Special poppa of Rylie, Skylar, Oaklee, Nevaeh, Tyson, Savanna, Sophia, Lucie, Huntleigh, Roddy, Kobi, Ez, Kylo, Arianna and his beloved grand-pups, Blue, Charlie and Rodium. 

Dear brother of Patti & Darrell Parsons, Steve & Joy Line, Sandy & Greg Simpson and Dave Line and best friend of Tom McIlwrick and Gord White. Son-in-law of Gary Sholdice. Brother-in-law of Paul Sholdice and Mark & Debbie Sholdice. Doug will be lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews and their families. 

Predeceased by his parents Robert Kemp and Andrena & Ron Line, mother-in-law Barb Sholdice, bonus son Rod Adams and uncle Bruce Ruddy. 

Doug’s spirit will forever live on through his children, grandchildren and all the lives he touched throughout his many years of coaching and his love of sports.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, August 17th, 2023 at the Wingham Knights of Columbus Centre. A small ceremony will begin at 4:00 p.m.with refreshments to follow. All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a trust fund set up to allow his grandchildren to continue their sports. Donations can be made by visiting a Libro branch or by e-transfer to kerrikemp94@hotmail.com.
