Obituary of Dan Dillon

At Wingham & District Hospital on Monday, December 5, 2022, Daniel James Dillon of Wroxeter, passed away surrounded by his family, at the age of 61.

 

Husband of Wendy (Bateman) Dillon.  Father of Joe & Michelle Dillon of Fordwich, Laura Dillon of Listowel, Tony Dillon & Tracey Steacy of Lucknow, and Carrie Dillon of Wroxeter. Grandfather of Ty Dillon of Fordwich, Riley Dillon & Jess Locklyn of Cambridge, Makayla Dillon of Fordwich, and Pheonix Thompson, River Thompson, and Atticus Thompson, all of Listowel. Great-grandfather of Ayden. Brother of Rick Dillon of Thedford, Randy Dillon of Mitchell & Lisa Joly of Quebec, Bev Dillon & Jim Walker of London, and Bonnie Dillon & Clayton Kirk of Riversdale.  Also sadly missed by Wendy’s siblings, Elaine & Roy Ceal of Prince George, BC, Mary & Jim Sproul of Brussels, Gail & Terry Sproul of Ethel, Glenda & Gerard Ducharme of Ethel as well as by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Joe & Sue (Harris) Dillon, parents-in-law Robert & Margret Bateman and sister-in-law Carol Bateman.

 

Dan loved camping and spent most of every summer at their trailer, where he did grass cutting and made friends with everyone. He could always be counted on to offer a helping hand. He also loved just spending time with family and friends and his dog Sparky.

 

Visitation will be held at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.  The service will be live-streamed, please click here to view the service. 

 

Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Ethel.
