Thank you, Bill and Marg, for that beautiful tribute for your mom. Her warmth, generous spirit and faith are so evident. I'm really sorry that I have not been able to visit in these last years, but she has a very special place in my heart with warm memories of my childhood when your dad and mom were so significant in my dad and mom's lives.

On behalf of the Listowel Memorial Hospital (LMH) Retirees Breakfast Club and former LMH Food Services (Dietary) staff, We send our most sincere condolences to all of Hazel's Winger and Laidlaw families. She was a valued employee during her years at LMH and gave it "her all" to any task she was given in the kitchen. Some of those pots and pans were almost bigger than she was!!! Her personality was endearing, always upbeat and sunny every day she was there, never cranky or sullen, regardless of what "unexpected occurrences" might crop up. Trust me, some days resulted in the kitchen girls displaying less than "Christian" attitudes!!! Hazel just kept smiling and carried on!!! We expect that this demeanor served her as well in her personal life as she was no stranger to sadness and heartache within the Winger family and also, the passing of Cliff. We are sure it aided in reaching the incredible age of 105 as well. You will miss her greatly but will have a treasure trove of memories to share and cherish. She is only ever just a thought away. Sincerely, Joyce King

Every time I think of Hazel I smile. She was always so nice to us. My grandmother Lorena Stewart and Hazel were really close friends from Listowel Hospital, Hazel would take us to Church. Sometime she would watch us she always had baked good, She liked to make things with her hands. When care bear we’re in she made me bedtime bear my favourite, and my sister good luck bear. My grandmother has dementia but a few years back her memory was not very good. When I mentioned Hazel she lit up and smiled saying my dearest friend. Tank you for sharing her with us we were blessed to have he in our life.

Hazel was a lovely lady who liked to share a smile. It was always nice to see Cliff & Hazel at church in Whitechurch. She often shared her candies with the attendees just pre sermon time. ❤️ I was just asking my Mom(Mildred Purdon) last week if she has heard anything about Hazel. 106, she was truly amazing. Her kind heart will be missed. My sincere sympathy to her family. God bless, Kendra Purdon

I grew up outside of Fordwich so I remember Hazel from the BIC Vacation Bible School years. We reconnected YEARS later when Hazel and Cliff lived in Wingham. Such a sweet lady who had a huge heart and was a big prayer warrior.
