Obituary of Nel Bentinck

At Huronlea Home for the Aged, Brussels, on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, Neeltje “Nel” Bentinck passed away peacefully, at the age of 101.

The former Nel Verschoor, beloved wife of Ben who predeceased her in 2000. Nel was born in Ridderkerk in Holland. She will be dearly missed by friends and her special family friend Gerry Boeve. Predeceased by her parents Arie & Teuntje (den Besten) Verschoor, brother Klaas Verschoor and sister Johanna Baas.

Nel had a passion for all living creatures, from the smallest bug to the tallest giraffe. She had a zest for life and the spunk to match it. She loved to sew, enjoyed flowers and chatting with friends, but most of all the ocean. In Ontario, her favourite spot was Goderich beach and the fish and chip wagon there.

Arrangements have been entrusted to McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Adopt-A-Pet Rescue, Lucknow would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
