My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
I worked with Steve at the Goderich salt mine and knew him as a man of strength of character and conviction. He was an accomplished miner and could be counted on to get the job done. More importantly Steve had a softer side and was always there when you really needed him as a friend!

Steve was living proof of how fine a person can be. He was a good leader to the people in his charge, a loving husband to his wife, and a devoted father to his children. He was also a good friend to many of us and a great colleague.
Steve led his staff in such a way that he exemplified leadership. He gave energy, commitment and inspiration to his staff and to others that he worked with. I will always remember his booming voice, a beautiful smile, a sense of humor and a gentle demeanor. Steve was intelligent, logical and systematic in his thinking. He was always willing to share his ideas and information. He was proud of his accomplishments and passionately attentive in spending time with his family traveling up north to visit friends to enjoy the outdoors.
Shannon our hearts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time. We will all miss him.
David Church .
