Obituary of Betty Kennedy

Peacefully at Lisaard House, Cambridge on Thursday, December 19th, 2019, Betty Kennedy of Kitchener and formerly of Teeswater at the age of 88.

Beloved wife of the late Tim Kennedy who predeceased her in 2002. Loving Mom of Rick & Mary Kennedy of Kitchener, Bevin Kennedy of Teeswater and Tracy & Judy Kennedy of Kitchener. Cherished Grandma of Bridget Kennedy & Jonathan Wright, Meaghan & Trevor Porter, Courtney Czerlau, Madison Kennedy and Zachary Kennedy. Special GG of Jack, Adlen, Sullivan, Sawyer, Kaden, Jake and Annie. Sister-in-law of Donelda Millen, Rita Kennedy and Pat Kennedy. Betty will be lovingly remembered by her dear friends Martha Guenther, Mike & Val Weidner and Sadie Watson as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Predeceased by her parents Nelson & Elizabeth Hunkin, sister Audrey Edgar and her husband Harvey, brothers-in-law Jerome Kennedy, Joe Kennedy and his wife Jean, Nick Kennedy and Harry Millen and sister-in-law Gertrude Benninger and her husband Ed.

Betty loved spending time with her family, her grandchildren and her dogs. Betty’s dogs Benji and Brady provided her with unconditional love throughout her life and she especially loved when the grandchildren would come to visit and bring their dogs along too. Betty was an avid curler for many years while living in Teeswater with her husband Tim and after her move to Kitchener in 2003 she took up bowling, another activity that she thoroughly enjoyed and was able to make many lifelong friends through.

Visitation will take place at McBurney Funeral Home Chapel, Wingham on Monday, December 23rd from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1:30 p.m. Reverend Jeff Hawkins officiating. Final resting place, Sacred Heart Cemetery, Teeswater.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Lisaard House would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
