Obituary of Myrtle Leggatt
At Huronview, Clinton on Monday, September 9, 2019, Mrs. Myrtle Elizabeth (Fothergill) Leggatt formerly of Wingham at the age of 98.
Beloved wife of the late J. Gordon Leggatt who predeceased her in 2012. Loving mother to her sons Allan (Roelie) and Murray (Pat). Cherished grandmother of Chris, Angie, Lauren & Matt, Alex, Kimberly and Tim. Great-grandmother of Hennessy, Carver, Maren and Chase. Myrtle also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Predeceased by her parents Thomas & Elizabeth Fothergill, brothers Albert, Thomas, John, Arthur, and Stanley Fothergill, sisters Ethel Parsons and Mabel Purdon, step-brothers Robert and Joseph Walton, and step-sister Mary Strand.
Myrtle was born in Bowsman River, Manitoba and moved to Wingham when she was nine with her two siblings and parents and lived here until recently when she moved to Huronview in Clinton for care. She enjoyed summertime breezes on her veranda outside and followed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with a heart full of pride.
A private family graveside service will take place at Wingham Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
