Bill studied auto-mechanics at W&DHS in my class for 4 years in the 1960's. He was an outstanding student and one of those students that make teaching a joy. He came to class always prepared and willing to work, he always had a smile and it was a pleasure to see him every time in the classroom. When he left school a job offer came from the GM dealer in Wingham well he was busy cutting fire wood but he guessed he come in for an interview, he was a low key kind of guy. He took the job in Wingham and later moved on to Goderich. I was saddened to hear about his passing but he was one of my best students who brings a smile to my face when I think about him, he was unforgettable.

Years ago, when Bill worked at Hayters, he was my main go-to mechanic and had the patience of a saint while I would try to explain what I thought might be the problem with my vehicle. One time in particular, when my car wouldn't start, he picked me up in Lucknow and took me to my aunt's at Belfast to wait for Tom to come and get me.
