Obituary of Allan Bridge

At Wingham & District Hospital on Saturday, January 12, 2019, Allan Bridge of Wingham, at the age of 79.

Beloved husband of Marilyn (Fear) Bridge of Wingham. Cherished father of Sharon Shobbrook, Sheila & Terry Armstrong, Lyle & Audrey Bridge, Lynne & Don Armstrong, Brad & Diane Shobbrook, Susan Bridge & Don Wheatley, Steven Bridge and Krista & Jay Marston. Dear grandpa of seventeen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Brother of Glenn Bridge and brother-in-law of Karen Bridge, Russell Fear & Verna Edgar, Phyllis Biggin & Denis Jewitt, Wayne & Barb Fear, Larry & Linda Fear and Bruce & Joyce Fear.

Predeceased by his parents George & Jean Bridge, son Perry Bridge, brothers Harold and Ben Bridge, sister-in-law Jean Bridge, daughter-in-law Cathy Bridge and son-in-law Marvin Fulmek.

Allan was involved within his family’s business at Bridge Motors in Wingham and Brussels for over 55 years. He was an active member and past President within the Wingham Sportsman’s Association and enjoyed spending time at the club and playing cards. He spent many hours watching his grandkids participate in various sports and enjoyed teaching and playing cards with them. Allan loved a good joke and making people laugh. His sense of humor, laugh and spirit will be missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 18th at the Royal Canadian Legion, Wingham at 1:00 pm with visitation and reception to follow. Reverend Richard Hall officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Wingham & District Hospital Foundation or Wingham Sportsman’s Association would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
