Obituary of Marilyn Jones

At Wingham & District Hospital on Sunday, June 18th, 2023, Marilyn Jones of Wingham passed away peacefully at the age of 78.

Cherished mom of Shelley Jones-Hubbard of Wingham, Rob Jones of Wingham, Rod & Heather Jones of Lucknow and Jennifer & Russ Lamondin of Stratford. Loving grandma of Jolanda (Shawn), Kristin, Meagan, Shae-Lynn (Jeff), Sherydan, Tyler, Alyssa, Lucas (Evelyn) and Josie. Also survived by eight great-grandchildren.  Predeceased by her husband Ron Jones, infant son James Darwin Jones and parents Shirley (Semple) Murray and James & Viola Murray.

Marilyn graduated from the RNA school in Wingham and went on to nurse at the Wingham Hospital for many years, a career she enjoyed. She loved people; she could always be found chatting with everyone she met and never turned down an opportunity for conversation. She had a passion for knitting beautiful blankets and sweaters and pretty much anything you wanted her to. She loved animals, especially puppies. Our family will miss her beautiful smile, her witty, sharp tongue that sometimes got her into trouble and her incredibly kind soul.

Visitation will be held at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham on Thursday, June 22nd, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and again on Friday, June 23rd from 12:00 until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm. Final resting place, Wingham Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Wingham & District Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care) would be appreciated.
