Aunt Elizabeth was my great aunt, her brother was my mother's father. I grew up in the United States and abroad so we did not have the opportunity to visit very often. My last memory of Aunt Elizabeth was when she came to Florida in 1991 to visit my mother. She traveled to Tallahassee with friends where I picked her up (I was attending graduate school at Florida State University at the time). We drove together from Tallahassee to Orlando having a wonderful visit in the car. When I exited the highway in Orlando I was used to putting a certain pressure on the gas pedal (after four hours) and neglected to adjust my speed to the lower speed limit. I was promptly pulled over for speeding and very embarrassed. Aunt Elizabeth in the sweetest voice leaned over and told the officer it was her fault and that she had distracted me. The officer still gave me a speeding ticket but we had a good laugh.
I wish I would have had a chance to know her better. She was an amazing woman.

Elizabeth was a former neighbour and friend...we often went to visit her in Stratford. she was a great lady...a WWII veteran ....we agreed on her beliefs and also her political
views and enjoyed our visits with her....she will be missed ....I know she is now in a
better place singing her heart out....God Bless and Godspeed Elizabeth.

Aunt Elizabeth was one woman whom I always greatly admired. She would probably be outraged if I called her one of the original feminists. But her search for adventure in life led her from secretary in Toronto to the armed forces in WW II England to the McKague farms in Culross township. And all that time she followed a strict set of ethics based on her religion. Someone who set an example for me not to fear change and stand up for my beliefs.
So Elizabeth I will miss you and hope you have found a choir that sings on key.
