My sincerest sympathies to Clare's family. You could always count on Clare for a friendly "hello" and "have a good evening" when I visited my dad at Huronlea. I am sure the staff will miss him greatly. Cherish the memories.

I am going to miss Clare so much - he was my friend, and I loved him like a family member .... he passed on my Birthday so I’ll consider that a special honour! I was in Costa Rica & just about to go out for a special birthday supper when I heard - broke my heart & it took a while to compose myself to go out for a celebration but Clare would have wanted that! Really didn’t like us making a fuss over him & was never anything less than a perfect gentleman ... I will cherish many fond memories & thank you for entrusting your dad/brother/loved one with us for the past 8-9 years - going to work will not be the same without this very special man ..... R.I.P. dear friend ~ you can now join your wife & fly with the angels ❤️ With Love, Cher McGlynn

My father moved into Huronlea in December and shared a room with Clare. I had many conversations with Clare and he was a true gentleman. I am glad I stopped for a short conversation with him on Tuesday. Our family offers sincere sympathy to Clare’s family on his passing.

As I think of Clare now, in the sadness of his passing, I think of what a good man he was, kind and generous in his offerings of help, always a smile and a show of interest in every conversation, even if you knew he probably wasn't that interested. He loved a good meal with family, his kids and grand kids, and talking about farming and tractors. Always a gentleman with a sparkly eyed grin, I will miss knowing he is around.

I’m so sorry to hear about Clare. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Clare will always be my Papa Clare. I have so many fond memories of him and mom. They were good friends and I know they enjoyed spending time together. I know their friendship sure helped to pass the time at the nursing home. It was always so heart warming to go up to the nursing home and see them watching TV together. Clare was a real support to mom and us when she was near the end I’ll always be grateful for the way he looked out for her. I know this is a difficult time for you’s. I’m sure he is smiling now to be with his wife and to say hello to mom. I will be away on May 5 but just know that I am there in thought. Clare will always have a special place in my heart.
Deepest sympathies
Sharon

Condolences to Bruce,Ron, Rob and families. Clare became a great friend of mine while I worked in Brussels. I admired his friendship and all the chats we had. He always had a big smile for me ( and usually some chocolate ) which I won’t forget. Thinking of you’s all. RIP Clare.
