Obituary of Jean Margaret Stokes

At Braemar Retirement Centre, on Friday, August 22, 2014, Mrs. Jean Stokes of Belmore age 96 years. The former Jean McBurney, beloved wife of the late John Stokes who predeceased her in 1997. Dear mother of Carole and Eric Shaw of Mac Tier, and Lynda and Elwood Fitch of R.R. #1, Wroxeter. Loving grandmother of David and Irene Shaw, Wade and Denise Shaw, Owen Shaw, Jason Fitch and Jeremy and Tonia Fitch. Great-grandmother of Jade and Gwyneth Shaw and Cassadie Fitch. Dear friend of Gerry and Reta vanEngen of R.R. #3, Wingham and their family. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents James and Margaret (Chandler) McBurney and by her brother John McBurney. Visitation at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham on Saturday, 7:00-9:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home chapel on Sunday at 2:00 pm. Interment in Wroxeter Cemetery, Howick Township. Reverend Peggy Kinsmen officiating.
