Sorry to hear of Doris passing, she was an amazing lady. Our family has alot of memories at the trailer in Whitechurch. The four some will be back together for the card games and for some dancing. We had good times with both Doris and Dan, they are both missed greatly.

Always asking how the kids were doing. Throughout her life she persevered through hard times and good times,raising 4 of the nicest kids you would ever want to meet and who are now grieving the loss of their mom as are their kids missing their grandmother. . Her friends and relatives in the Teeswater area will miss her pleasant smile and easy conversation...as will all those who knew her. I will miss her laugh and her conversations but I will remember her thoughtfulness and courage,.

Sincere condolences to all of Doris's family. She was a special lady, always had a smile. A fond memory, we have, of Doris being at a celebration for a newly wed couple, that we had attended also. The family that held the celebration had a zip-line on their property, she was brave enough to do it and impressed many people with her young at heart attitude. She truly will be missed.

The Struthers and McDonald (Herb and Ida) families grew up on the 8th Concession of Culross - childhood friends. Although their lives took many different roads over the years, there was always a friendship that remained. Doris always took an interest in the McDonald doings. When Doris was living in Teeswater (and we retired to the farm) that friendship was renewed and many talks took place on updating family affairs. Her care giving to relatives when living at Oatman's in Teeswater was appreciated.
To the Struthers family and to Doris's family, we extend our condolences. Her memory will live on in the hearts of many.

Doris has been a mentor for me through my nursing career. She trained me as a PSW in Lucknow, when I was 16 years old. Our Sympathies to all of Doris' family. She was a wonderful woman, always smiling and bubbly, a pleasure to be around. The world was a better place with her in it. Many a times, I was way too long over at the Belmore store, chatting with Doris. Only to go back to the mill and find customers waiting there for me OOOPS!. When we would meet somewhere unexpected, the twinkle in her eyes told me, I was her friend. Be at peace my friend, I will miss you.
